The VirGlob-SP claims a Sustainable Development with environmental, economic, social, and cultural issues
THE POSITION OF THE VIRGLOB-SP The VirGlob-SP advocates a Sustainable Development - not the destruction of the environment and our planet's resources. (> VirGlob-SP Manifesto) A sustainable community effort consists of a long-term and integrated systems approach to developing and achieving a healthy community by balanced environmental, economic, social, and cultural issues. The VirGlob-SP definition of Sustainable Development doesn't support the quantity of economic growth but the quality of an environmental, economic, social, and cultural development.
BASIC MEASURES The harvest of the resources and the
resulting environmental stress must be calculated and
evaluated in regions with clear delimitations and with
enough dimension - 1 to 9 million inhabitants - where can be
calculated the following indicators: 1. The physical area the production requires A Sustainable Development has been
achieved, when the calculated area to produce the necessary
food, fuel, transportation possibilities, etc is not bigger
than the region. 2. The total of non-renewable resources the population needs A Sustainable Development has been
achieved, when total production of the region is sufficient
to provide for the inhabitant's needs without requiring more
resources than the area can regenerate (energies, minerals,
water, wood and agriculture, etc). A Sustainable Development has been achieved, when not more non-renewable energy and materials leave than enter the region. Transportation stress belongs to this exchange calculation. These 3 indicators must be calculated and evaluated with the same basic standard of the Sustainable Development in each evaluated region of the whole world. The focus and the scale of sustainability efforts can't be dependent on local conditions.
STIMULATING MEASURES The price of the different resources must cover all calculatable external costs. The government has to add the calculated charges. So the different resources get the same conditions on the market. If the charges are creating an income, this income is to restitute to the inhabitants (the same restitution to every inhabitant) and to the companies (the same restitution per worker).

Today, the expression means the sustainable management of the world's non-renewable resource base - energies, minerals, water, air, ground, etc. "The Sustainable Development meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."
